TGIF

jump
This is how I feel about friday, I am so ready for the weekend! Haha I love this shot. Court and I were on our trip up the mountain and pulled off to explore a bit and we decided to do some fun jumping shots. We worked out a plan where we would watch over each others shoulders for cars flying in our direction. We had a couple close calls but we survived and had lots of fun in the process.

new love

So my best friend is in love and it was very much evident in her actions, words and smiles this weekend. She has found someone that makes her laugh and let's her shine. I've never been a big fan of any of her boyfriends (I am a bit over-protective and maybe a little too picky) but I was pleasantly surprised by her new beau. He is a strong leader, he is passionate, he is a great communicator and he gets her. By the end of the weekend I was ok with leaving my lil sis in his hands, it did of course take some prying at my tightened fingers. Haha.

This is a poem that I love about love...
How Do I Love Thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

rolling hills

rolling hills
Every time I am taking in the majesty of a mountain range or even a beautiful set of rolling hills I often find myself wondering what I may find on the other side. We were driving down an old country road when we spotted an old truck sitting in the midst of these awesome hills and we just had to stop to walk around.

pasture

I had an amazing time in Tennessee, I already miss my BFF and the mountains. We spent a lot of time exploring all the different mountains. Stopping to take pics every once in a while. I wish I could have taken more but I did get a few that I will be sharing throughout the week. I hope you enjoy them and that you can get a small glimpse into what I love.

Tomorrow morning I will be in a big metal bird surrounded by big fluffy clouds on my way to the beautiful state of Tennessee. I'm spending a couple days with my best friend Courtney, hopefully I will get to take lots of pics to share when I get back. Have a great weekend!

promise me a letter

somewhere
This photo reminds me of a book I recently read called "Wednesday Letters," by Jason Wright. It's a beautiful story about a husband that wrote his wife every week from the day they were married until the day they died. After their passing, their children come together and find all the letters and learn more about their parents and themselves than they ever thought was possible. This book was filled with dynamic relationships, love, loss and beauty hidden in between. I definitely reccomend it.

It's amazing how light can shine behind something and make its beauty even more evident. It brings out details and colors, it shows hidden textures and depth. I love the feeling of being captured by new beauty.

My boss came in this morning with a treat for all of us, she said that it was our creative motivator for the week. They were yummy and definitely inspired a creative boost. Either that or a sugar rush, but who can tell?

chinese lanterns and poinsettas

I wanted to capture some warm colors on this cold day, so I grabbed some of my mom's chinese lanterns that she dried and mixed them in with her pretty poinsettas. It was just the warm fix I needed to get me through this cold front.

my personal aurora borealis

setting sun
I know the the actual Northern Lights are far more exquisite and vibrant but every time I look at this picture it takes me one step closer to seeing that majestic light show. I think it is the slight wave of movement to the right and the gradual changing of the hues. I can't pin-point it but it takes me. One day I hope to capture the real thing, but this is as close as I could get at the moment.

i'm ready for a trip

motorhome
It's been awhile since I left the mitten, I'm getting antsy. I want to explore somewhere new. Luckily I won't have to wait much longer, I fly to TN next thursday!

distant lands

distant land
There is nothing like a soft rolling field of blue. The kind of peace you get just sitting and being. Letting the wind wash over you. I love this kind of retreat.

doggy daydreams

fire hydrant
You ever wonder what it's like for a dog to see a fire-hydrant? I do. I can't imagine the thoughts they must have and I don't understand the attraction. But I am pretty sure the smell is what draws them...I think when they smell all the others that have been there before them they are filled with the desire to be a part of something bigger than themselves, to keep the train moving. HAHAHA. That's what I think and I am stickin with it.

Lilian

I was going through some old photo-shoots that I did with my friend Lilian and these were some of my faves that I thought I would share. Whenever I needed a model for photography class she was always ready and willing. She let me do whatever I wanted with her hair, makeup, and the concept...it's always fun to have a friend like that. You can come up with some really cool things.

brighter days

Being that I've been a little under the weather, I haven't gotten to go out and take pictures and my bedroom isn't all that interesting. So here are some pics from a couple of days ago...I took them on my way home from work, I love how every day the sky is brand new. It never looks the same.

i got that scratchy feeling

proactive
Ok, so at the moment I feel like I swallowed a brillo pad. It isn't that there is any pain, just discomfort. To try and stop the problem before it got any more severe, I decided to be proactive and take some medicine. Let's just say my throat still has that scratchy feeling and now I am straining to keep my eyes open and regain the use of all my limbs. haha. I haven't really gotten hit with a bug in a long time, I guess I didn't realize how potent cough syrup was. My co-workers are concerned, they think I may lose the ability to hold my head up...haha. Could you imagine? haha. Right now I just want to crawl under my desk and fall asleep, sounds real productive doesn't it.

Well back to work for me....hopefully the juice will wear off soon. I've learned my lesson. Thank you Jesus I am healed!

a beautiful warmth

warmth field
Today was a sweet surprise, for the last couple months we've been having to bundle up from head to toe.
The cold has been so bitter that as soon as you took a step outside your door it would steal your breath.
But today, the sun was shining and the negative temperatures that we've become so accustomed to faded
to a beautiful warmth.

abandoned

warehouse
One of my favorite things to do is to drive around in an old down town and find old abandoned buildings.
They just have so much character and depth. Looking at them you can see time. If I was braver I would do
more than shoot from the outside. I would venture in. One day maybe.
