Last night was an amazing night of worship, I really don't have the words to describe how awesome it was. Every time I go to one of their services I am taken back by the beauty of so many people worshiping God together in all out abandon. It covers my body in goose bumps and brings tears to my eyes. They are definitely a blessed group of individuals with a God given ability to lead people into His presence. I can't describe the joy, excitement and love that I feel when I am all out surrendered in my worship. Above are just a few shots that I got during the service and I also am including one of my new favorite songs from their new album, take a moment to just let God's love wash over you. Happy Wednesday All!

Don't Give Up

(This is an old photo of one of my good friends. She was always willing to let me play during all of our shoots. I remember this shoot was centered around loss, around pain. Sticking her in this tub and telling her to think of something that made her feel broken was all I had to do, she nailed it.)
Whenever I look at this shot it takes me back, to when I was in that place of being overcome with loneliness, that place of being so vulnerable that I didn't want to open my eyes and face it alone. I am thankful that I've only experienced this rush of emotions a few times in my life and when I was in the midst of its torment I had the love of God always reminding me that I didn't have to stay there. That I could be protected from the whip-lash of life, I just had to stop trying to go it alone. Not a lesson you want to learn more than once, but being human it took me a few times to learn how to lean on someone other than myself. Once I did, the change was almost instantaneous. Instead of being ravaged by the fear and pain and loneliness, peace and love and strength began to rush over and through me and I knew beyond knowing that I was not alone, that tomorrow held something better than I could imagine in that moment and that I could overcome anything. It is a beautiful thing, fully relying and trusting the love of God.

I love looking up at the sky. It's a living mural, always changing and often steals my breath away.

Perfect Blue

Bay City

There is something about the end of a summer day, when that calm begins to settle and stillness begins to take root. Saturday was a perfect reflection of this transition, from bright over active sunshine to cool calm starlight. As the night fell and the water broke the shore, we sat hugged by the gentle breeze and the light of the moon above. Sitting there it was easy to feel a little bit lighter. The worries swelling in my heart and the thoughts of tomorrow that constantly fill my mind faded to the background and the stillness washed over me. For me there can never be too many summer nights like these. I love finding that perfect blue, that stillness and calm that energizes your mind and comforts your heart. It was a great night.

“Warm summer sun, shine kindly here. Warm southern wind, blow softly here. Green sod above, lie light, lie light. Good night, dear Heart, Good night, good night.” Mark Twain

Our Mission: Searching for Yogurt

A few weeks ago my friend Rachel and I set out on a mission, we were determined to locate the above (an awesome Yogurt place.) We searched for local Pinkberrys, Yagoots and Swirlberrys and there were none even remotely close to where we were. So we settled on something not completely satisfying that day and made a plan to hit Swirlberry in Lansing on our next weekend excursion.
Well, it's been a few weeks and I still have not had my yogurt fix. Today I am left staring at these pics from my Cincinnati trip anticipating my next yummy yogurt encounter. I hope it comes soon.
What's your favorite frozen dessert place?

Happy Birthday Mr. Blue

Today is my friend Chris' bday and I have to say he is pretty awesome. He always jumps in and models for us, he lets us test photo concepts out on him and he helps us make our visions a reality. He is an amazing encourager, he challenges and inspires. Besides all that, the fact that he is married to one of my dearest friends/biz partner automatically makes him awesome, I am blessed to have him as a friend. Happy Birthday Bud!
