His beauty on display.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known. 
They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. 

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. 

It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. 

It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. 

The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. 
Nothing can hide from its warmth.

The Salt Life: Sand Key, FL

My parents are visiting for the week. It's been a fun filled time. We are only 3 days in and there've been lots of belly laughs, a number of mis-adventures and a sweet amount of time together. We are renting a cottage on the beach and below is what we have the privilege to wake up to and see every night. Today we are going sailing. I'm super excited. More pictures to come.

This was the view from my front porch this evening. The colors were so vibrant. It was a great end to a warm day.

into the blue

It's amazing how a sunset can turn the plainest of landscapes into something breathtakingly beautiful. It's as if the colors in the sky amplify the hidden radiance of the ground below. I love being able to look out into an open field and just get enveloped by the thought of all the sunsets that set on this very place before I could take them in. No sunset should go unnoticed or sunrise for that matter, but I am not a morning person so it's pretty special when I get to take in a full sunrise.

Tonight take some time around 6 or so to just take in the beauty of the turning of another day, your time will not be wasted.

another time another place

Have you ever looked at a farm and thought about what it would be like to live that life? Every time I pass one, all the unspoken wonder peeks it's curious head and I sit and let my mind drift to another time another place where that would be the life I wanted.
I've always been surrounded by farms growing up, I am sure that is why I am very much fascinated by them. It's hard for me to explain but it is almost like living back in the day where you worked with your hands and you grew your food. A hard days work consisted of waking up before the sun and having sweat pour from all your pores. Where at the end of the day you didn't want to go do do do, you just wanted to rest and be. There are moments where the idea of that kind of life still sounds appealing to me. Not an easy life by any means, but one that builds character through a daily pouring out of yourself. I think there is so much beauty that is lost by the busyness that our lives are often clouded by. We often overlook the majesty that surrounds us.
