kangaroo flower
So last thursday I went with my mom and her good friend Annette to the Frederik Meijer's Gardens, in Grand Rapids. While we were there I was able to capture a handful of gorgeous flowers from all over the world. I plan on sharing some of my favorites in the next couple days. Yesterdays post had some of the prettiest flowers from the whole day, they were from the tropical garden along with the flowers from today. I found the above flower so interesting, it actually had a little pouch hanging off the front like a kangaroo...it was pretty nifty.
**edit** The name of this flower is not "Kangaroo Flower", that is just what it made me think of. Haha. Sorry for any confusion.

i loved the flowers from yesterday's post...this one too. never heard of a kangaroo flower! is it some type of orchid? can't wait to see the others
I've never seen one like this before, but it is indeed beautiful.
that's a great pic and a really unusual looking flower! nice work! blessings...
Oh Wow! What a cool looking flower. I can definitely see why you thought of "Kangaroo" with the pouch on it. So neat!
What a great place to go visit... there is so much undeniable beauty in nature!
