writing on the wall

“Most of us can read the writing on the wall; we just assume it's addressed to someone else.” -Ivern Ball

set out on an adventure

“We should come home from adventures, and perils, and discoveries every day with new experience and character” -Henry David Thoreau

I love this quote, there is an adventure awaiting us each time we step outside our front doors...it's just opening our eyes and recognizing it. Some of my friends (tab, crystal, chris) and I are setting out on a little photography adventure Saturday, I am super excited to see what fun things we discover.

Happy Friday All!

high rise

“This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well. Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly. Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature. Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.”
-Susan Polis Schutz

no flash

So this week is no flash, which was an easy one for me since I rarely use my flash. This is colton, he is a cutie. If you like editing photos head over to iHeartFaces and join in on the fun.

“Love is a canvas pattern furnished by Nature, and embroidered by imagination.”

roaming the countryside

“I roamed the countryside searching for answers to things I did not understand. Why thunder lasts longer
than that which causes it, and why immediately on its creation the lightning becomes visible to the eye
while thunder requires time to travel. How?” - Leonardo da Vinci

deep roots

roots
“The deep root of failure in our lives is to think, 'Oh how useless and powerless I am.' It is essential to think strongly and forcefully, 'I can do it,' without boasting or fretting.” - Tenzin Gyatso, The 14th Dalai Lama

can you hold my hand forever?

hold my hand
“I'm holding onto what I hope will keep you by my side forever” - Dallas Green

You
(I wrote this for my mom to my grandma)
you were there for me when i scraped my knee
you were there when i first fell in love
you were there when he turned his back on me
you held my hand, you were enough

you were there when i said my i do's
you were there when things came unglued
you were there to comfort and guide
you were there, you stayed by my side

you were there for me when my children were born
you were there to wipe tears from my eyes
you were there when they began to grow and soar
you were there to tell me our future was bright

you've been there my whole life through
i can't imagine a single day without you
tomorrow holds a different future than i dreamed
but your hand i will hold through everything

waiting to see you

me and grams
"Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see you, just you, all day and once she did her day was complete." -Marcy DeMaree
Goodbyes are hard, especially when you know that tomorrow will never again be like today. This thursday my family and I are going to celebrate my grandma's life. We are going to remember all the beautiful things she has done and all the people she has touched. We are going to say goodbye one last time until that day we meet with her again in heaven.
